It feels surreal, like a cruel joke played by fate. My dogs and I have spent nine years building memories in these walls. Job interviews are ongoing, but securing income has been a hurdle that I can barely clear at the best of times. The thought of losing my belongings is almost as painful as not knowing where to lay our heads each night. But there’s always hope.
