My name is Youssef, and I’m from Al-Bureij Camp in Gaza.
Since the war began, my family and I have lived through things no one should ever face — endless bombings, hunger, fear, and displacement. We were forced to flee our home fourteen times, carrying only what we could hold and praying to stay alive.
When I finally returned, by God’s mercy, our home was still standing. But inside, everything felt broken. We had survived famine, injuries, and loss. My father is ill, so I carry the responsibility of providing for my family, doing everything I can to keep us together.
Now, as the guns fall silent, I dream of rebuilding — of returning to my education, of healing, of living without fear. I hope for a chance to start again, to bring back the smiles we lost, and to build a future where we can live with dignity and peace.
Even after everything, I still believe in tomorrow.
kind regards
Youssef
