Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our dear mother, Denise Lord who passed away suddenly. She was the heart of our family—a loving mother, grandmother, and source of strength who touched everyone she met with her warmth, resilience, and quiet determination.
Several years ago, Mom suffered a devastating stroke that took the use of her left arm. Despite this, she remained hopeful and worked hard to adapt. She could still walk and stay somewhat active in the beginning, but over time her condition gradually deteriorated. Simple daily tasks became harder, and she eventually required 24-hour care. Through it all, she faced every challenge with grace and never lost her fighting spirit.
In addition to the ongoing effects of the stroke, Mom battled a lung embolism last year which added layers of medical complexity and required extensive care. The mounting medical bills from years of treatments, medications, hospitalizations, and in-home support have become overwhelming for our family. Then, her passing came suddenly, leaving us grieving while facing the immediate costs of her funeral and final arrangements.
Funeral expenses, including services and burial, along with the outstanding medical debts, have created a heavy financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. As a family, we want to give Mom the dignified farewell she deserves while honoring the love and care she gave us throughout her life.
Any contribution—no matter the size—will help ease this burden so we can focus on celebrating her life and supporting one another through our grief. Your generosity will go directly toward outstanding medical bills, funeral and burial costs, and any remaining expenses related to her final arrangements. Mom’s legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support, prayers, or shares. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page means the world to us.
With deepest gratitude,
Her daughters: Andrene Lord & Stacy Ann Hodge & Lord Family
