It takes a village. Our funny friend Kristin, her daughter Scout and Kristin's mother, "Guammie," who Kristin has cared for, on her own, in her home for 10 years, need our help. Kristin is too proud to ask herself. As some of you know, Kristin struggled financially a few years ago. Treading water and in total survival and triage mode, she was unable to pay her mortgage along with her other larger bills. That turned around a couple of years ago, she has now been working; not just full-time but around the clock with her tv day job and her side hustle business, night job, she was finally back on track — or so she thought. Without boring you with The-Man/corrupt details - the banks gave her a modification program, she religiously paid their exorbitant rate on time along with all of her other bills for 14 months - assuming it would, within time get her current; only to discover the bank would demand a BALLOON PAYMENT at the end of the modification term, totaling SIXTY NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS — DUE immediately a month ago - the worst is she spent 3 months incorrectly advised, she would now be able to re-finance, using the equity in the house, to get current and get a normal monthly payment - only to have 5 mortgage companies and banks deny her because of the years-ago financial history. The bank went straight to court and the Judge ruled in 60 days - the bank would be able to SELL THEIR HOUSE, that Kristin has lived in for 23 years, out from under them. We’re asking for a ton of money, granted, but if we team up - she might be able to save everything, she has genuinely been working her tail off to maintain. Indeed she hasn’t been sleeping for three months trying to sort it out. Please help if you can - we have no time and please, please share with any of your deep-pocket friend, generous friends who’d like to do a good deed for the day. Hopefully she will use her journalistic skills to tell her story to help others, who are undoubtedly in the same boat, once we all rescue Kristin and her little family. AND YES I made her promise, of course, your contribution, ensures you have a place to stay in the Hamptons in perpetuity.
