Growing up in Hiram, Georgia, I always felt a strong connection to my community. Over the years, I've witnessed many neighbors struggle, especially when it comes to finding a safe place they can turn to for help. This feeling drove me to start a local outreach aimed at providing essentials for the homeless and anyone in need. Today, I have an opportunity to make a real difference by transforming an old RV into a sanctuary where we can offer food, showers, clothing, and vital resources.
This RV is more than just a vehicle; it represents hope and dignity for those who often feel invisible. The physical transformation will include installing shower facilities, a small kitchen area, and storage for clothing and supplies. It will include temporary beds for ALL. It will include a station that will be used to apply for aid & resources online. The vision is to have a welcoming space where people are treated with compassion and respect. Imagine the relief of getting a warm meal and new clothes, all within a nurturing environment.Imagine Children being able to eat a hot meal, help with school work,Free haircuts and hair styles for children and Adults, Imagine being able to transform someone for that job interview the next morning that couldn’t afford to do those things. Imagine being mobile and being able to reach those who are not mobile. It could be the difference between sleeping outside vs a safe warm environment until morning. So many things can be provided to those locally in our community. Imagine a place of no JUDGEMENT.
Renovating the RV into a fully functional outreach vehicle is no small task. I've set a goal to raise $30,000 to cover renovation costs and stock it with necessary supplies. Every step of this journey has been fueled by the kindness and support of my community. Each time someone shares their story with me, I'm reminded of why this mission is so crucial. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change and solidarity in our town. If you can find it in your heart to donate in anyway possible.
