There are so many trials and tribulations when it comes to life. Financially, spiritually, mentally, even physically. Through these things you learn and witness so many different, yet beautiful meanings. As a child, I witnessed my own mother battling cancer. It completely destroyed her. I watched her become someone I knew she never wanted to be. Tired, immobile, sick, weak, and everything that cancer comes with. We struggled to keep up with all of the medical bills. It was exhausting as a family, going through times like this. My mom has not been the only person in my family who I have lost to cancer. I know how the times can look. Deceiving, endless, impossible, confusing, hard, and painful. Although the beauty of seeing such patients be courageous, giving what it takes, and keep on keeping on regardless of what their body or mind is putting them through, is amazing. Most cancer patients you meet will not mention the struggles that come with. I chose this organization to bring awareness of the true struggles real people are facing. To raise money towards an organization such as the American Cancer Society is very important. It reaches close to home, for me.
