Hi there! My name is Jess and I want to start off by saying I never thought I would be here. I have struggled with my weight all my life and did just about any diet I could afford. Three years ago I decided to get serious about my health. There was so much I wanted to do, to see, to experience. I was alive but I wasn't living. I have had stalls along my weight-loss journey but I have pushed through them and now I have lost over 200lbs. I got my motorcycle license, I became more outgoing, I make it a point to try new things every week. I became the person younger me always wanted to be but was too scared to hope for it. With the weight-loss, however, comes the loose skin. At first, it was manageable, but the more I lose, the harder it gets to do the things that make me feel like I am living. I joined a studio that offers so many workout classes and through them, I have found a love of dancing. The one problem: my loose skin. I have to wear compression shirts that go to my wrists just so I can even try to use my arms to exercise. I have to wear a compression bodysuit so I don't wind up hurting myself trying to move my body. I do not take for granted that I even have the ability to do these things, I am thankful everyday that I get to do things that bring me joy! In addition to my physical health, it takes a toll on my mental health. It is so hard to look in the mirror and see the progress that I have made. Some days I still see the 400lbs+ girl and it makes me feel like I am failing myself.
The cost of skin removal is something that is out of my budget. I am saving as much as I can in order to reach my goal but I could use some help. I know times are rough for everyone so I appreciate you even taking time to read my story.
