Our Family Needs Help Bringing Ruben Home
I’m writing this on behalf of my brother-in-law, Ruben, and our entire family during one of the most heartbreaking and frightening times we have ever faced.
Ruben grew up here in the United States. He went to school here and attended Mainland Regional High School. This is where his family is, where his friends are, and where he has built his life.
On August 18, 2026, Ruben was arrested by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents and is currently being detained in Newark, New Jersey. Our family is devastated and doing everything we possibly can to bring him home.
We are raising money to help cover the cost of an immigration attorney, legal fees, bond-related expenses, and the other unexpected costs our family is facing as we fight to keep Ruben here with the people who love him.
Ruben is a good person with a family who loves him deeply. His entire immediate family are U.S. citizens, and we were currently working through the legal process to obtain the proper documentation for him before this happened.
Right now, Ruben is scared. He is facing the possibility of being sent back to a country where he was born, but not where he grew up or built his life. He has no family, friends, support system, or life waiting for him there. His home and the people he loves are here in the United States.
All we want is the opportunity to bring Ruben home and give him the legal representation he needs to fight his case. No family is ever prepared for something like this, emotionally or financially, and we cannot do it alone.
