My name is Rebeca, and I am a mother of four beautiful children, ages 12, 10, 9, and 7. I never imagined that I would have to come to strangers and ask for help simply to keep a roof over my children’s heads and food on our table.
Our family was devastated when their father was deported to Mexico, a country he is not from. He is a Cuban national. He was taken away from us without hesitation, and since that day, our lives have been turned upside down.
Their father was our main source of financial support. When he was taken away, so much more than a husband and father was taken from our family. The stability that our children depended on disappeared overnight.
I am now trying desperately to keep our family afloat on my own.
I have four children who need me, and my oldest is hearing impaired and on the autism spectrum. My children are also receiving therapy to help them cope with the emotional pain and confusion of having their father suddenly taken away from them. They don’t fully understand why their dad is gone or why our family cannot simply go back to the way it was.
And while I am trying to be strong for them, I am struggling too.
Right now, I am terrified that we are going to lose our home. I am behind on our bills, and our utilities are at risk of being shut off. There are days when I don’t know how I am going to keep enough food on the table for four growing children.
I wake up every day trying to hold everything together for my kids while silently wondering how much longer I can keep going.
I don’t want my children to lose their home on top of losing their father.
I don’t want them to go to bed hungry.
I don’t want to have to choose between paying a utility bill and buying groceries.
I am asking for help because I have reached a point where I cannot do this alone anymore. Any amount, no matter how small, could make a real difference for my children and me. Donations will help us keep our home, keep the utilities on, buy groceries, and continue providing the support and therapy my children need while we try to navigate this heartbreaking situation.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our fundraiser. Even a share could put our story in front of someone who is able to help.
My children have already had so much taken away from them. I am doing everything in my power to make sure they don’t lose the little stability they still have.
I am not asking for a handout. I am asking for a little help to keep my family from falling apart while I fight to keep us afloat.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story, for donating if you can, and for helping my children through one of the hardest moments of their lives.
Every dollar, every share, and every prayer means more to us than I can ever explain. ❤️
