On Wed January 7th Brian suffered a massive heart attack and is currently in the ICU fighting for his life. For those who know him, you know he is a hard worker, joker, the first person to help anyone. Seeing him this way is something we never imagined.
While he fights this battle, my mom has not left his side. She is his primary advocate and his greatest source of strength. However, this has created a secondary crisis at home.
Because of the nature of her employment, Mom does not qualify for FMLA or any paid leave benefits. She is currently unable to work, and there is a very real possibility she may not have a job to return to.
Since the road to recovery for him is going to be long—and with the loss of Mom’s income and the mounting medical bills, financial strain is becoming a heavy burden during an already difficult time.
We’re hoping to raise money to help cover medical costs and allow my mom to stay by his side
