I wanted to provide a short update. Logan is improving but still hospitalized. He will likely remain hospitalized until the end of December, at the very least. He is working with social workers for emergency grant funding that benefits people in catastrophic circumstances, as well as health coverage options.
He is incredibly grateful and humbled to know that there are people out there willing to help in his unexpected time of need.
I appreciate you all so much and will ask that you continue to share his story with your networks and say a prayer. Every little bit helps.
Thank you so much!
April (on behalf of Logan)

On Sunday, November 24th, 2024, my dear friend Logan drove himself to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well. He was barely able to walk by the time he arrived, and staff rushed him into the ER. It was determined that he was suffering a heart attack and, much to everyone's shock, he was in kidney failure.
Logan is a dear friend and favorite human to my two dogs, Duke and Earl. A hard worker and former business owner, his martial arts gym was forced into closure during the pandemic. He continued as a private instructor for many of his students, driving for Uber in the evening to supplement his income while looking for something more permanent. Over the years his students grew up, moved away, or chose not to continue with training, and he found himself driving full time. After the gym closed, he was without health insurance.
He has been in the hospital for 11 days, undergoing dialysis and managing the secondary issues his failing kidneys have caused to prevent multiple organ failure. At this time, discharge is unlikely for weeks. And though the hospital staff are helping him apply for medical assistance, the uncovered total will be overwhelming. Please consider donating to help with all of the expenses that will be accumulated over the next days and months.
He is kind, generous, always willing to offer a helping hand whenever and wherever it is needed. He often drives clients of little means that need to get to medical appointments or to attend to other needs for free. He is a part-time dogsitter and for the last 2 years has taken amazing care of my two dogs when I have to travel. I never worry when they are with Logan.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can provide. Please share Logan's story with others who might be willing to lend a hand. Every little bit counts.
If you are unable to donate at this time, please keep him in your prayers. He is going to need all the support he can get.
