Hello friends,
Jeffrey "Paul" McNabb has served his community for more than two decades as both a firefighter and a Paramedic. He is currently employed at Alamance County EMS, where he has served as a Field Training Officer and rode on the QRV for many years. He is a loyal volunteer firefighter to Southeast Fire Department, where he has both worked and volunteered since his teenage years.
Now, Paul needs our help. On the morning of December 21st, Paul was driving home from work and begin to experience symptoms of a stroke. He received the clot-busting medication at Alamance Regional Medical Center in the Emergency Department and was ultimately transferred to UNC-Chapel Hill to the NSICU. An MRI of the brain at UNC showed that he suffered from a left pontine stroke. He is currently at UNC-Chapel Hill, now on a step-down Neurological floor. The current plan is that he will be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation and continue vigorous PT, OT, and speech therapy.
Paul is truly one of a kind. He is truly an excellent Paramedic and firefighter. He has always chosen to put others in front of himself.
We are attempting to raise money to supplement the income that Paul will be missing from EMS and working part-time at the firehouse. We are also looking at other future fundraisers as well to assist him and his family.
He has improved already tremendously, and we are all hopeful that he will continue to improve and have a complete recovery.
