Missy was rushed to the emergency room on 4/28/22. At fist it presented like possible Lyme due to an infected tick bite (which the vet checked).  She was getting weak, vomiting and lethargic.  They did blood work and it was all normal. Unfortunately, all this cost almost $700.00. I borrowed from friends and family and even my neighbors. I spoke to the ER vet and they said they needed to do X-rays and ultrasounds to rule out a blockage or heart disease.   We were unable to get X-rays because the cost was $1200 for everything. They gave meds and treated the symptoms, we thought MAYBE it was severe anxiety due to my fiancées cat.  NOPE.

As of last night she stopped eating and drinking. She vomited and it smelled rancid.  The ER vet said the only thing we can do are the X-rays and then most likely surgery, because they think she has a blockage.  If we are unable to come up with the money, the only other option is euthanasia.

I just adopted her a year ago from Winnie's Legacy in VT, to help me with severe anxiety after a bad relationship. She's my emotional support dog. We need each other and she is a rescue. She deserves a better life and many more years, She in only three (3) years old. Please help if you can!

She is better and resting comfortably on my bed right now!  Not 100% but she at least has started eating and drinking again.  She is holding food and water down. 🥰

I am not saying she didn't eat anything or have something foreign in her belly. I don't know. What I do know is that the stressor of the cat is gone and she's been better...a little each day.   She is still weak but does not collapse or fall down the stairs.

I'm so happy that she is getting better. This is not the outcome I expected, and for that I am grateful!

🙏❤️Thank you for the donations!  ❤️You have such loving hearts!❤️
