I’m asking for a little help for someone who truly deserves it.
My friend Jen is legally blind and recently got a job as a dietary aide — something she’s so proud of. But she needs a very specific pair of glasses to safely and independently do her job.
Jen has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, which means her optic nerves are underdeveloped and permanently damaged. Because of this, her vision is extremely limited. The glasses she needs aren’t just regular glasses — they’re Meta smart glasses with built-in AI that can:
✨ Read labels, temperatures, and written information
✨ Identify colors
✨ Help her navigate tasks independently
✨ Give her more confidence and safety at work
Unfortunately, her insurance doesn’t cover them, and the cost is $650. For someone starting over and working so hard to build her independence, that price is heartbreaking.
