Supporting the Family of Ms. Lillie Wade:
We are Grace Heineman, Ellie Halpert, and Hannah Mosely. We live on West Hancock Avenue and are neighbors and friends of Ms. Lillie Wade.
If you’ve lived in the Athens area, chances are you’ve seen or spoken with Ms. Lillie. She was a familiar face on West Hancock, often walking around the neighborhood with a smile, chatting with students, and looking for a friendly conversation, or sometimes a cigarette. She had a warmth and spirit that made her unforgettable.
On October 27, 2025, Ms. Lillie was found deceased under heartbreaking circumstances after being missing for nearly three days. Her disappearance touched many in the Athens community, and countless people came together to help search for her.
Ms. Lillie was a kind, loving woman who cared deeply for everyone she met. Her family reflects that same kindness; they’ve been incredible neighbors and an important part of this community for years.
We would like to support the Wade family during this difficult time of grief and remembrance. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to helping them cover expenses and honor Ms. Lillie’s memory.
