Hi All.
First off THANK YOU to everyone who showed up and supported Jaelynn and The Tomorrow Fund at the walk on 4/28 and who purchased a Jaelynn Strong Tshirt! It was chilly but it was so wonderful to have you all there.
5/6 update on Jaelynn*
Jae had her normal clinic Monday today.. she had previously had three weeks off from Vinchristine (chemo) due to one of her counts being too low. She had no pills to take at home, and started to feel like a normal kid again. She was/is battling some brutal nausea spells and vomiting during the night which have gotten a little better but have not quit.
Today she made counts... during our talk with one of her doctors she started to get really upset, lips tingling, hard to breathe..tears- it was hard to know if it was an allergic reaction to a new IV antibiotic she was was receiving or if maybe she was having anxiety. She doesn't know and her doctors weren't entirely sure either.. they treated her with benadryl and she took a nap.
During those three weeks she had a taste of what it felt like to feel better during the day... to feel stronger. I'd be lying if I said I wanted her to make counts... because I get it.. I MISS HER TOO JAELYNN.. the spunky sporty full of life little girl... but she knows, she knows that she has to do this in order to be better someday. It honestly just sucks . She felt horrible ALL day. Skipped tutoring, skipped helping with her little sisters softball game and cried herself to sleep. She is so incredibly brave, and strong at just 9 years old. Most of the time I feel like we've got this , but there are days where we/I feel defeated.
Tomorrow she will have her 9 week - Lumbar Puncture. She is not looking forward to it at all. Wish her luck
Over these past few weeks since our last update Jaelynn has done so much!
Jaelynn was gifted a playhouse through Rosemary's Wish Kids and the wonderful students and my childhood friend their teacher Chris Pilling at BHS.. it is totally her.. a barn !
She is back to school, so far half days but she has one full day under her belt too! Tutoring four days a week.... Her school, teachers, and her friends have all been so wonderful. She comes home with the biggest smiles on her face.
She helps with Julia's softball team and threw the first pitch out for BGSA opening day! She misses her softball friends but she knows she will be back at it soon enough! Josh and I are coaching Julia's 6u team ( cause we need more added to our plate, lol ) but it's been so rewarding and we are all enjoying doing it together as a family.
She is finally doing physical therapy to get stronger. After all, she has a horse waiting to push her around and be ridden... his name is Diego. He's an absolute goofball but he's pretty sweet and she adores him. They will be a pretty incredible team someday just wait and see!
I hope you enjoy these photos over the past several weeks.
We appreciate every.single.one.of.you
Keep praying for our girl 🧡
