FAYE UPDATE 12/23/25   Great news .... Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine identified the biopsied growths as a rare condition called "fibropruritic nodules" which are non-cancerous cyst-like growths that occur secondary to chronic self-trauma induced by severe flea allergy dermatitis.  No papilloma growths were seen so Faye is not contagious to humans nor other animals.  To avoid future growths, Faye will need to be kept on year round flea preventative.   On Wednesday, January 7, Faye will have several of these nodules removed by Dr. Rebecca Spiviak at Stauffer Veterinary Surgical Center. The cost of the surgery will be $3,400.  The CanINE Express Transport Project is paying $1,500 of the surgery cost.  I hope you can join me by giving what you can to raise the remaining $2,000.  There is a two-week healing process after the January 7 surgery. After that, Faye will be available for adoption!  Thank you so much!

INITIAL REQUEST 11/4/25 I have always been so proud of all the donors who financially support shelter dogs in need of medical care who I post on the CanINE Express!   This time, I'm asking if you can give to help Faye, the sweetest 6 year old female lab/shepherd mix ever!   Faye was brought into White River Humane Society in Bedford, IN (a CanINE Express sending shelter partner)   with cutaneous black masses all over her back and rear legs. The local vet could not diagnosis the issue, so this past Tuesday I drove Faye to Animal Dermatology Center in Louisville (KY) to see Dr. Jeffrey Tinsley where several of the masses were biopsied and sent to Cornell Veternary School to confirm if the masses are viral plaques.  Faye was also diagnosed with widespread bacterial and yeast infections; poor girl was in misery scratching her belly and neck.  The cost for the biopsy surgery, bloodwork to rule out hypothyroidism, and medicated shampoo was $2,596.  The CanINE Express Transport Project has paid half of this amount. Please consider donating what you can to help me raise the remaining amount of $1,300 and share this post with your friends and family.  I'll send updates as soon as the biopsy report is received.  Thank you so much!
