Hello everyone im BC! and welcome to the EXPERIENCE! So as many of you might know, I am in the process of putting out my debut self titled album "EXPERIENCE" as an unsigned, self funded artist. I have been working on this body of work for over 5 years and it fills me with so much joy knowing that it is so close to done! Although I may seem ecstatic, this journey has been far from easy. It has been filled with a spectrum of "Big Emotions", blood, sweat and tears everyday and the constant question running through my mind daily, "why does the current state of our society make it so hard to do what we are passionate about, freely?" that's okay, you don't need an answer. But maybe you can relate. Being an artist is freeing and expensive!!! I have done everything in my power to get the funds and tools I need so far but it still isn't enough, and that's where you come in. If I seem like a soul you'd like to help, please continue reading as I will be taking you step by step though the process of what it will take to get this album off of the ground and skyrocket to outer space.
Mixing - Behind every great song is an amazing mix and master. First of all, what is a mix? Mix is something to help professionally level a song. Think of it as a nice cleanup. It's taking all the right frequencies and tones and piecing them together then getting rid of all the unnecessary ones. This is something out of my control, trust me I've thought about trying, but even if I wanted to do, I would need a pretty expensive setup to even start learning how. Sticking with what I'm good at, I have already paid for 6 songs fully mastered so 8 more to go.
Music Videos and photo shoots- Oh come on, don't you wanna see me dancing around singing to my songs in fun costumes doing silly dances under shining lights? With every iconic artist comes a full spectrum of artistry which includes videos and photos. I have loved music videos since I was very young and I have always seen how they can really bring a song to life. This has always been so fascinating to me. I have big goals for "EXPERIENCE", the album. And one of them is amazing music videos ands high quality photos. Each video will cost about $4,000 which includes cost of venue, paying dancers and crew and feeding people. I would like to shoot 2 more music videos for this album, I have already put out one (linked it below so you can get a taste of the magic : ).
Exhausted yet? So am I, this live show has really required some hard work! another thing that comes with the territory of artistry is, of course, touring. its the ultimate way of exposure and fan building. This is relative for each artist, however it's usually pricey getting on the road and performing willingly for new people. There are travel expenses which include; gas, food, hotels (or in my case couches and motels) and merch to sell. I plan on getting shirts, vinyls and CD's made in lieu of this album cycle to sell at live shows and just in general. There's something special (still) about seeing someone perform live, falling in love and buying something of their's to remember them by. So with that being said, this will be about $6,000 give or take for everything from the travel expenses to merch cost. And don't you worry, I WILL be touring near you and will comp your tickets!
And last but not least, THE MUSIC. As you may know, creating anything from the ground up is a lot of work, especially with cheap gear. that's why Intend on purchasing a few new pieces of equipment such as a good mic, to really give these songs my all. with a better mic, I can give these songs what they really deserve, an acoustic version. with this higher quality gear, I will be using it to record and release "EXPERIENCE (Unplugged)". and will roughly cost me about $5,000 to do so. including paying for studio space and buying a new microphone and getting the acoustic versions mixed and mastered.
