My only son Christopher Moore was in a motorcycle accident on Sep 28, 2021 on his way to work. My daughter-in-law Shannon Moore was running a little behind and left after Chris when she noticed what she thought was an animal until she saw green lights( which my son had just put on his bike just the week prior, connected to his phone and not the engine). Shannon immediately stopped turned around and found her husband in the ditch gasping for air begging for the pain to stop. Shannon with no phone saw a passer by stopped and screamed to call 911. This wonderful man who called 911 knew the address and got help to the scene. Not long after the officers used their vehicles with light to allow the helicopter to land and evacuate my son to UNC Chapel Hill. God obviously was watching out for my son as he had no spinal or neck injuries. He has had two rapid response trips back to the ICU due to internal damage as the road sign took him off his bike. God has gotten us so far and across the country friends, family, and even friends of friends have all been praying to help him pull though. Chris had his first meal today since the accident and he is now looking to the future. Months of physical therapy as the road sign degloved his left thigh from above the knee to the abdomen and his right arm had a compound fracture. Opposite sides of the body and Chris is a pipe fitter. Shannon has had to go back to work to try and make ends meet, but she has been here by my sons side every step of the way.
