Trying to find ways to make college more affordable! I am working alone towards my goal of being a first-gen university graduate in my family, though this process is proving to be a strenuous journey already! I will be starting as a freshman at the University of South Carolina (Columbia) as a Public Health major, working towards a bachelor of science. I am also planning to take on a Pre-Med track, so I know I have a lot of work to do. I come from a low-income family of immigrants, so I am taking on the responsibility of funding my own college degree so as to not add to their burdens. I still wish to give back to my family as well as the community that has raised me, which is why I chose to continue my education as a health professional. I am currently 19 years old with a CNA certification, but working most of my days in the Publix deli to save up while helping to support my family. I want to do more, and I know I am capable of so much more for the people I love, which is why I have chosen this difficult path.
