Elysea Mathis is my bestfriend. That word doesn't even do our relationship justice because she is more of a sister than anything. I have never met someone so caring, hard-working, and loyal. She is such a beautiful person and has always deserved all the happiness in the world. When I found out she was pregnant, I was overjoyed and she was so happy. It truly felt like a dream come true for her and filled my heart. When I met my nephew, I knew these things: he was beautiful, sweet, and loved like his mommy.
Unfortunately, this amazing best friend of mine recently lost her 3-month-old son, Sevoné Ali Brunson to SIDS. After seeing her, I can tell it is going to be a long road to recovery and regaining a sense of purpose for her. If you have a child, you know how painful even the thought of losing them is. Now imagine when that thought becomes your reality. Each day you fall asleep and pray you will wake up from this nightmare in the morning... but you don't. It completely shatters your heart into a million pieces. And then time keeps moving; obligations pile up, and the stress of it all, many times, is too much to bear.
I am asking all of you, from the bottom of my heart, to please consider donating whatever you can. Anything big or small helps! I know my community and how caring and selfless you all are. With your help, I know Elysea will feel loved and supported though the most difficult time of her life. If you love me, you have to love her because she is a massive part of me. Please help me, help my best friend get through this tough time. All donations will go directly to Elysea and help with expenses and services to help her heal and recover.
