we are reaching out to you today as our son Gabriel was recently diagnosed with autism. This past year has been a challenging one, with Gabriel starting preschool while we welcomed home a newborn and adjusted to life with three kids while both working opposite 12-hour shifts.
These past few months it has become clear at school that Gabriel will require some extra help to transition into kindergarten in order for him to be successful. But while we are grateful for having the coverage of health insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for the necessary initial evaluations and subsequent recurrent therapies are high, and we are struggling to afford them on our own.
As parents, we want nothing but the best for our child, and we are committed to providing the necessary resources to help him thrive. Unfortunately, the costs associated with autism care and therapy can be overwhelming, and we are asking for your help in making this journey a little easier, as his initial evaluation he needs to qualify for his daily and weekly therapies alone has been quoted at $1,000-2,000 despite our deductible being met for the year.
We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will also help cover the out-of-pocket expenses associated with Gabriel's subsequent treatment after this evaluation. These expenses include ABA, speech and occupational therapy, and various other therapies and recurrent evaluations that will be crucial in helping him develop and reach his full potential.
Gabriel's diagnosis has been overwhelming, but we know that with the right resources, support, and love, he can live a happy and fulfilling life.
