Hello, I hope all is well. As some may or may not know I am a part of the Bridgewater-Raynham HS robotics team, called TJ^2. In this team we design, and build robots to compete with specific game rules and purposes released yearly. multiple ideas and trials ultimately lead to having a robot to compete in with different events such as regional events in Mass, New Hampshire, and international events in Houston. But only if you’re good enough like us. Last year we won our own hosted regional championship and a WPI off season event. As you can imagine building a robot with so much materials and for the need to constantly travel and stay at hotels all across state boundaries the cost for the team racks up quickly. As a team we spend about $80,000 a year on travel and materials for ourselves and the robot which is partly contributed to some by big sponsors we have like Raytheon tech, and Johnson and Johnson. But they sadly don’t cover it all. This coming Sunday we are having one of our biggest fundraising events of the year, on 10/1. The event is called Canal day, the team members have the option to bike or run how ever many miles and get people to support them for the miles they do. Last year I did about 10 miles and am hoping to do 15 miles for this year. No obligation to of course but it would be great if you could support me for the 15 miles I will bike, totaling $15, a dollar per mile.
