Online Digital Bank For Women Of Color Founders

My dream since I was 12 years old was to own my own business. Which in my family is virtually unheard of. No one in my family has gone to college and everyone lives on some form of government assistance program or disability. Seeing my single mom busting her butt living paycheck to paycheck trying to take care of me and my brother was tough. Especially, having to watch her stress because she blew her entire paycheck within a few days on bills and then worrying how we're going to hold over until the next pay week. I want more. I think I've always wanted more.  My goal is to create generational wealth for my children and their children and so forth and so on. So, When I was 19 years old, I tried launching my own beauty/lifestyle brand for Gen Z and millennial women called "Signature." Unfortunately, money was tight and because I was a broke unemployed college student with no credit, no prior work history, and zero money coming in qualifying for loans was not an option and with no luck I spent the next 3 years applying for grants. Therefore, I couldn't afford any promotion or marketing or any supplies or products, so we had to shut down. I took this loss really hard. I fell into a depression and felt embarrassed, and I felt like a complete failure, and I had extreme anxiety because I was unsure of the future. I had all the goals and dreams, and I had set such high expectations for myself when it didn't work out, I was discouraged and confused because I thought I was doing everything right from doing my research, getting my business set up and established legally, acting as my own designer and manager (with no previous experience), putting in all types of crazy hours while also juggling college full time as well. But after thinking about it I realized money and finances were the root of the majority of my problems. This frustrated me even more because I was still struggling financially, I hadn't finished college yet, and I had no support because everyone around couldn't afford to help me either. So, after doing some digging, I discovered that only 1% of venture capital goes to black entrepreneurs, even Less if you're a WOMAN of color. This inspired me to create an online digital bank SPECIFICALLY for women of color across Gen Z and Millennials. Unfortunately, in fintech women in general control only 12% of the space. that number becomes smaller if you're Black, Hispanic/Latino, Hawaiian, Asian, Native American, etc. My vision is to create an online digital bank for Gen Z and Millennial women of color that offer financials tools and resources, community, mentorship, loans, and financial education. This isn't just another financial platform or fintech platform it's driven by true purpose and caters to a VERY underserved and often forgotten group of people which is great because that means I've managed to carve out a very specific niche lane for myself that isn't oversaturated at the moment meaning the potential for great success and public interest is really huge. What I need now is money to market and advertise the business, money to build it and everything that goes with it, and money to maintain it. I plan to launch a free version at first, so I won't be profiting off of it financially for a while but once traction builds and trust is established, I'll also launch a premium subscription model charging $9.99/month for more premium services and features. I'll also donate 10% of the profits to women of color owned businesses everywhere.
