Most of you reading this already know the story of our beloved Ginger & Skip and the love we have for saving animals in need. For those of you who are not familiar...we rescued Ginger & Skip in the Summer of 2022 from Peace for All Animals Sanctuary. We met Ginger when she was a baby and came to the rescue covered in scabs and was horrifically being consumed by insects from the filth that she was left to die in. With constant care, love, nutrition, homemade bonnets/jackets and the fiery desire to live....she recovered and was ready to show the world just how much of a fighter (and troublemaker) she is!

Skipper (previously known as Jack) followed shortly after being rescued from a kill shelter where he was to be shipped for the value of his body to be meat. Our hearts were broken for him as he was petrified and didn't know who to trust. To this day, we are still working with him daily to gain his trust and he is slowly coming around. He is safe and loved and that's all that matters.

We didn't have a thing prepared when we made the decision to rescue these incredible souls, but we were determined. Our family dropped everything to help us and we cleared our land by hand, built fences upon fences, relocated a barn to our property, and found a way to get everything ready for them to come to their forever home. We didn't accept any donations as we weren't set up for that, despite many people wanting to help. It wasn't perfect, but it was ours and THEY WERE SAVED.

Fast forward a bit.....and we find ourselves here where we need some help from the community that has grown to love these animals just as much as we do. The barn is DESTROYED now..... a hard lesson learned. Shingles and donkeys do not mix. Ginger not only tore off almost every side shingle, but she quite literally tore the doors off of the barn to play with. Before you ask, yes...they have TONS of toys....but, Ginger will be Ginger is what we have discovered. It's a scary sight to show you and my heart hurts seeing it like this but I fear it has to be done so you can see for yourself.....

After some brainstorming and taking some good advice, I am hopeful that we have a great solution. Many of Ginger & Skip's fans have asked how they can help support them/us and the venture of rescuing our animals. We have not done something like this before, and we don't like to ask anything of anyone else. However, someone said to me that I need to remember it means a lot to others when they are given the chance to help something/someone THEY care about.

So, here we are.... asking if you would like to donate to the rehabilitation of their barn. We loved the idea of putting a personalized twist to this and allowing your donation to live on and be seen for years to come. With a $25 donation, you will get to "buy" a board that will refurbish the barn and choose what you would like burned on to it as a message/love note. A example below of how we will be doing these (except on a longer board):

If you can help us with this project for them, it would mean the world to us! If you can't, YOU still mean the world to us for supporting us and cheering us on always!  We will keep you all updated with the progress and hopefully this will be a really cool way of showing what happens when we all pull together for a wonderful cause.
