PLEASE HELP!!!! A Lifetime of Our Family's Halloween Animatronics and Tradition of providing a FREE Haunted Halloween for the Community is in Jeopardy due to the weather last night!!!
Many of you as children came to Neen and Big Steve's House in Suffolk, VA for Halloween and years later brought your children. When they move to Wilson, NC in 2017, they continued to provide the same to the community there.
As many of you know my Dad passed away last year in August. While he was in the Navy he missed many holidays, birthday's, school programs, etc. For some weird reason he was home for a lot of Halloween's and always made them perfect. When he retired from the Navy in 1994 he and my mother started collecting Halloween Animatronics. We have driven as far as Tennessee to add to the growing collection. When Dad died last year it was hard to keep the tradition going without him. In my Dad's memory and for my mom and her grandkids (us big kids too) we kept it going and I promised my Dad that I would make each one better than the last.
Last night the storm came in fast and many things were knocked over by people running to get out of the rain or are water damaged. We had about 300+ people come through and provided candy and an awesome Halloween memory for everyone at our family's financial expense. When the rain stopped for a few minutes, we were able to look around the yard. The defeated look on my Mom's face and the kids about crushed me...but I am going to keep my promise to my Dad and make next Halloween better than this one no matter what I have to do.
My family has given back so much..my Dad most of all when serving his country as a Master Chief in the Navy for over 20 years then to a career in Law Enforcement serving his community. I am asking that the Community he proudly served give something back even though he is not here to thank you himself.
Please DONATE even if it's only a few dollars to keep this tradition alive for our family and all the family's in our community. If you have or know of someone who has any animatronics that they don't want (even if they need electrical repair) we would love to have them. If there is anyone out there that is handy with electronics and is willing to donate their time to see what can be salvaged there will be many thanks, drinks and pizza ready for you. If anyone has a dry cleaning business and is willing to clean some of the costumes that would also help.
My parents over the years have spent well over $30k on all this just to see all of us adults and our kids smile...help us keep it going so another generation can enjoy this fun Halloween experience too.
Thank You!!!
