Before May 26th 2025 we were loving life and pregnancy with my little family! She was diagnosed with stage 3 her-2+ metastatic breast cancer. They also did genetic testing and learned that she had a tp53 gene mutation called Li-Fraumeni syndrome. We fought with doctors to get surgery first and even traveled to Tijuana to try alternative treatments to avoid chemotherapy to avoid doing chemo while pregnant. Thankfully we ended up getting a mastectomy done on 6/13. She was cancer free! Unfortunately I had complications recovering after the surgery and that delayed reconstructive surgery. In August we welcomed our baby boy Ares to the world. Shortly after in late September we had a scheduled visit with our surgeon for reconstruction. He noticed a weird spot on her chest and immediately did a biopsy. When the results came back we found out that she had Paget’s disease breast cancer. With no surgery possible the only next step was chemo. In December I started my battle with TCHP chemotherapy. We did six treatments and luckily thanks to cold capping I was able to save some of my hair! After 6 months of struggle and side affects we finished treatment on April 10th! When we went to my oncologist appointment shortly after we had our hopes of surgery and this being the end of our cancer journey shot down. The chemo did not do enough for surgery to be available. They wanted us to do radiation. This would cause more of the cancer cells to become active and most likely give me another cancer within the next five years. We fought and canceled appointments until they finally offered us to try Kadcyla. 7/8/26 we drove the long ride from Gillette to Denver and we are doing our 2/6 treatments of Kadcyla. This chemotherapy has a 30% chance of shrinking the cancer enough to do surgery. We are hopeful that it’s working! With all the travel and living off of one income any help or prayers you can give us would seriously help us get through this extended cancer journey! We are so grateful for our generous community and we could’ve have made it this far with
