Anthony and Brian Espinoza lived together in North Augusta and had just begun to feel like they were getting back on their feet when Brian was arrested and detained by ICE in February 2025. His DACA cost $600 to renew every two years, and at its most recent expiration, the family could not afford the cost of renewal. Brian was kept for months in an ICE detainment center in Folkston in inhumane conditions, without AC during a Georgia summer and with limited access to basic hygiene. In early September, he was deported from his home and will be unable to return. Anthony plans to relocate to Mexico to be with him. Now Anthony and Brian need their community’s support to manage the costs of legal fees, medical needs, Mexican identifying paperwork, and relocation assistance.
