On February 8th, Audrey was admitted to the hospital unconscious, unable to be woken hospital staff with the use of sternal rubs, chest compressions, Narcan, and other things. This bout of unconsciousness came after an ambulance ride with the cheif complaint of not being able able to breathe. No one knows what cause the bout of unconsciousness even though she was immediately placed on oxygen immediately when she voiced she couldn't breathe.
After several hours, around 3:30am, Audrey woke up in the emergency room bed confused of where she was and why she was sore, but needing to utilize the bathroom.
A sitter assigned to her via the hospital tried to assist her to the bedside commode, but after pushing off the bed to stand, her legs immediately gave out from under her. They provided no support. The sitter promptly caught her and placed Audrey back into the bed. Doctors came in to see what had happened.
Audrey had numbness in her legs with some pins and needles. She could not feel pinching, touching, poking, or more from her feet to her hips. The next day, she lost feeling to her bladder.
She has been started on a physical therapy and has needed a catheter several times. Several tests have been run including but, not limited to, a CT scan, MRI, bloodworm, and talk of a spinal tap.
This serious medical flare up is not the first time to arise in Audrey as it happen back in 2020.
Both times now, doctors are unable to figure out what is causing the inability to move and feel both her legs and bladder. The last time took 1.5 years for Audrey to walk on her own again. We pray recovery is not as long, but we are trying to plan for the worst.
This has been set up as a fundraiser for a wheelchair, but the extra will go towards arm crutches and a small ramp to make her new place of living accessible.
This has been stressful on Audrey and her service dog, Declan. He's confused why his momma is not getting better.
Thank you for sharing and donating.
