We never imagined we would be in this position, and it’s incredibly hard to put into words what our family is going through.
Our mother, Katrina Rex, passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born on October 3, 1966, and throughout her life, she showed a level of strength and resilience that inspired everyone around her.
She fought so hard for so long—battling cancer, enduring chemotherapy and radiation, facing tracheostomy infections, struggling with swelling of her esophagus that caused aspiration, and surviving multiple strokes. Through everything, she never gave up.
In her final days, she was in palliative care at Strong Hospital on hospice, receiving comfort care. She remained with us in her own way—aware, strong, and still trying to speak and connect, even after losing the ability to eat or drink and with paralysis on her right side. Her strength and love never left her.
Our hearts are broken, and we are devastated by this loss. We are now focused on honoring her life and giving her the peace, dignity, and celebration she deserves.
We are asking for help to reach our goal of $10,000 to cover funeral costs and final expenses. Any support will go directly toward ensuring she is laid to rest with the love and respect she deserves.
Any donation, no matter how small, truly helps. If you’re unable to give, sharing this with others means just as much to us.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping us honor our mother’s life.
