On the evening of Thursday, April 27th, we received the heartbreaking news that no parent or family ever wants to hear: we lost our beautiful boy, Trevor. He was a very special young man and will be deeply missed by his entire family. From the moment he was born, we all knew he was something special. I will never forget the first time I looked into his handsome, curious, and sweet eyes. Trevor was the type of kid who always wanted to help. He carried around a set of keys so he could unlock a stuck door or gate for you. He was always helping his momma in the kitchen and at the back of his dad's legs in the garage, or knocking on his big brother's door with a huge smile looking for him to teach him some new cool thing. When he wasn't helping them, he would be riding his bike down to his cousin, aunt, and uncle's house, making sure everyone always had soda, cookies, pizza rolls, or pigs in a blanket.

Trevor had a love for baseball, snowboarding, dirtbike riding, wakeboarding, and so much more. As one of the younger cousins, he would always make his way up to the mountains and made sure he had a seat.    He was the type of young man that people wished they had as their family member or friend. He would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend or family member, even giving the shirt off his back. He had a special way with words, as shown in the reports he wrote. He loved animals and would look for hours to find a home for a sweet stray cat and make sure it was fed and felt loved. As a young adult, Trevor learned the family carpentry trade working alongside his dad and uncle. He found a passion for riding motorcycles. He was a loving Uncle to his twin nieces. 

Trevor's sudden death is devastating to our family and anyone who knew him. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us. We have read all of your kind words, and they truly mean the world to us all. We want to give Trevor the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Trevor’s funeral. Again the Shields family thanks you for all of your support as we navigate through these very difficult times.
