hi, my name is Shannon. I am a nurse who has a strong passion for saving homeless kitties. I started rescuing when I bought my first house three years ago. I am up to 22 cats in my house that I am taking care of. Six of those right now are fosters, that will hopefully find loving homes. I also work with a local rescue in transporting cats to low cost spay neuter and fostering with them occasionally. Hoping these animals is my reason for getting up in the morning but living on a single income with a mortgage and all the other expenses that come along with it make money extremely tight to provide the care that I would love to provide for them. I am also wanting to be able to open officially a nonprofit to assist in the area I live in. I grew up being bullied and never had really any friends. I have people that I know now, but nobody close. Rescuing has given me a purpose that I otherwise Didn’t have. Some of these cats and kittens have come in so sick and it is so rewarding to get them healthy and watch them go into a home and complete somebody’s family. I feel like God has put me in this place. Some of my coworkers suggested that I should try to go fund me to help with some of the expenses. I don’t really expect that anybody’s going to donate because there are people that have big problems. I would love to be able to add a catio to my house so the kitties can get some safe outdoor time. I don’t let them go outside because there’s a lot of danger out there. If I could somehow open a nonprofit, I could help with the TNR programs and help to get more kitties off the street. it’s a busy life, I work long days at work as a nurse and come home and have a lot of work to do to take care of everybody, but I wouldn’t change it for nothing. like I said, I feel like this is my purpose in life. If anybody understands my story and is able to help, I would appreciate it more than I could ever explain. Even if nobody donates, I will continue to do the best I can with what I have to rescue as many of the streets as I can .
