On Friday December 2nd, my mother's apartment caught fire which caused her to lose everything. To protect my mother emotionally so she doesn't have to re-live the trauma, I will omit the details, but I will say that we are so incredibly grateful that she made it out alive, which could not have been the case.
First and foremost, we ask for prayers. If you have the pleasure of knowing Barb, you know what a vibrant, fire cracker spirit she is. Just hours after this happened, she said to me, "While I'll never be the same, there are people in the world that have it way worse then I do right now. Sometimes you're the bat and sometimes you're the ball." Please pray that she is comforted during this time of shock and loss, especially mourning the loss of her cat Baby, who passed in the fire. Also for the neighboring victims in the apartment who lost all.
Secondly, if you have any extra financial means this Holiday Season and feel compelled to give, your generosity would be incredibly appreciated. As stated before, my mother has nothing. 90% of her belongings were in this fire. With little to begin with, this is a devestating loss. Anything you can spare would be so appreciated.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. Whether sending a well wish, a prayer, financial contribution, or support, we are so grateful for all the people who continue to show up in times of need.
