Hi, my name is Aly Wick, and I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
For the past two years, I have gotten to know and love the Quenita family — a courageous family of seven who have faced unbearable loss and hardship throughout the war in Gaza.
The children:
-
Lama – 19
-
Lian – 17
-
Lin – 15
-
Rahaf – 13
-
Abdullah – 11
-
Ghazal – 8
Their mother, Ehsan, is doing everything she can to keep her children alive in circumstances no family should ever endure.
At the beginning of the war, Ehsan lost her husband — and soon after, nearly his entire family was killed as well. Their home in northern Gaza was completely destroyed, forcing them to flee south with nothing. Today, like many families in Gaza, they remain displaced, homeless, and struggling to survive amid continued airstrikes, food shortages, disease, and the collapse of basic infrastructure.
Ehsan is a devoted mother — strong, resourceful, and determined — but she is also a grieving widow raising six children alone in a place where safety and stability have disappeared. She has taken the brave step of creating a donation link, even though she feels deep shame asking for help. She knows she must try, because her children’s futures depend on it.
Before the war, the family lived a stable and dignified life. The children were thriving in school — especially Lama and Lian, who excelled in high school and dreamed of continuing their education. Now, they face not only the trauma of losing their father, five uncles, their grandmother, and many cousins, but also the fear of losing every opportunity ahead of them.
These children have no surviving relatives except their mother.
Their entire world has been destroyed — yet they still hope, they still dream, and they still deserve a chance.
Below are Ehsan’s heartfelt words:
“I am a mother of six children. My husband was martyred at the beginning of this war, and my husband’s entire family was martyred as well. Our home in northern Gaza was completely destroyed, and we were forced to flee to the south. We are homeless now, and the situation is tragic.
I do not want to experience the bitterness of loss again or see my children die in front of me. I created a donation link so we might escape from death and injustice to a safe place. I am speaking to you now while crying, ashamed to ask for help. It is very difficult.
Before the war, we lived a stable and dignified life, but now we have nothing. We cannot earn income. My children are in need, and no one is donating to them.
My daughters Lama and Lian were in high school and dream of continuing their education.
My children lost their father, their grandmother, five uncles, and many cousins. They have no one left but me.”
Your support — truly any amount — helps this family survive and rebuild.
It provides:
-
🍞 Food
-
💧 Clean water
-
🏚️ Emergency shelter materials
-
💊 Medication & urgent medical care
-
👕 Clothing, shoes, hygiene items, blankets
-
🎒 Support for the children’s education
-
🚐 Transportation costs if the family is displaced again
This is not charity —
it is humanity, dignity, and hope for a family with nowhere else to turn.
