Hi! My name is Catharine Harrison, and I am running the New Port, RI, Marathon to raise money for children's cancer research. The proceeds will be donated to the Children's Cancer Research Fund, a national nonprofit. They are dedicated to creating better treatment options for children with cancer while simultaneously increasing the number of pediatric cancer specialists. The fund also establishes programs to help families through the difficult navigation process of cancer treatments and survivorship.
I am a lifetime girl scout and committed 13 amazing years to the organization. I have worked with underprivileged men, women, and children through soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and parish gatherings. These opportunities lead to my passion for helping others and making a change. Helping to fund cancer research has been a lifetime goal of mine ever since I began charity work. Running this marathon is only a small step to helping others through the process of treatment and advocating for the cause. No small or large donation will go unnoticed and will be used for a great cause. Thank you for your support.
