Bismillah,

For most of my life, I have been devoted to helping others heal.

As a lifelong servant to my community, my work has been rooted in wellness, education, social justice and service. I have advocated for equitable healthcare access, served on health accountability commissions, worked alongside state agencies and nonprofits, and supported individuals as a holistic nutritionist and health coach. Whether through advocacy or direct care, my purpose has always been to help people live healthier, more dignified lives.

But behind that purpose, I have been quietly fighting a battle of my own.

As an Indigenous woman, I have spent my life navigating a healthcare system that too often fails people like me. What many describe as gaps in care, I have experienced as something deeper. It has often been a struggle just to access the care I need. I have fought not only for my own health, but for a better system for others. And I am exhausted.

I am currently living with multiple chronic conditions that are taking a serious toll on my overall wellbeing, including neurological, lung, metabolic, autoimmune, and a progressive disorder that continues to worsen over time. Every day is shaped by pain, limitation, and uncertainty.

For years, I have done everything I could to manage my health through holistic and integrative approaches. Meditation became a vital tool, helping me find grounding and moments of peace even through pain.

As my condition progresses, it is now affecting my ability to breathe, making it difficult to access even the practices that once sustained me.

I am exhausted from managing pain. I am exhausted from not knowing how I will feel from one day to the next. I am exhausted from having to mask my reality just to remain palatable and professional.

I have reached a critical point where medical intervention is no longer optional. It is urgent.

My best chance at relief, mobility, and quality of life is a series of specialized surgeries and treatments. I have received estimates of up to $75,000. These treatments are not easily accessible to me where I live, and delays will only allow my condition and quality of life to worsen.

Seeking care abroad would allow me to access the treatment I need in a timely and financially possible way. It is the most realistic path for me to begin receiving proper care before my condition progresses further.

I do not yet know the full cost, but I know I cannot do this alone.

Your support will help me access consultations, treatment, and the first steps toward relief, stability, and healing, God willing. It will give me a real chance to move out of constant survival mode and toward a life with more breath, more presence, and less pain.

I have spent my life advocating for justice, access, and care. Now I am being called to be just as radical about my own wellness.

As a mother, I want to be present, active, and healthy for my son. As a healer and advocate, I want to continue the work that has shaped my life. Right now, I need to turn that care inward, and I need my community to hold me in the way I have tried to hold others.

In my faith as a Muslim, I believe that healing ultimately comes from Allah, and that seeking treatment is an act of trust in His mercy. As a champion for mutual aid, I also believe we are meant to ease one another’s burdens. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve their distress in this life and the next. I hold onto that faith as I take this step and ask for help.

If you are able to contribute, share, or keep me in your prayers, it would mean more than I can express. No donation is too small. Every act of support brings me closer to accessing the care I urgently need, finding relief, and continuing on my path toward healing and service, God willing.

Bless you for being part of my journey.

Sending peace, mercy and prayers of wellbeing to whoever reads this for you and your families.

Salaam
