We Need Your Help for One of Our Own
As first responders, our calling is to serve, protect, and save the lives of others. We run toward emergencies without hesitation—but sometimes, one of us is the one who needs help.
One of our fellow first responders is currently fighting a serious medical emergency. She has been hospitalized since last Tuesday after experiencing severe symptoms, including vomiting blood in multiple forms and extensive bruising on her legs. She was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning and has remained there ever since.
She rang in the New Year alone, in a hospital bed.
Doctors discovered a hard infectious mass on her submandibular gland that has spread to her collarbone and right shoulder. She is now on her 12th round of IV antibiotics, and there is a possibility she may need to be intubated to protect her airway as she continues to choke on vomit. Her condition remains serious, and her recovery is still uncertain.
She lives alone and has no family to lean on during this time. Being off work for an extended period has exhausted her PTO, and she will need financial support to cover basic living expenses and medical-related costs while she focuses on healing—before she can return to doing what she does best: saving lives.
She gives so much to others. Now it’s our turn to give back.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send words of encouragement, every bit of support matters more than you know. Thank you for standing with a first responder when she needs it most.
