I was driving home from work, following all the rules of the road, when everything changed in an instant.
Out of nowhere, a military vehicle one of those massive, armored vehicle ran a stop sign and slammed into the side of my car. It was a full-speed T-bone. The impact was violent. My world spun into chaos.
The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital. I had suffered a concussion, and the doctors later diagnosed me with PTSD and traumatic brain injury from the accident. I still flinch at loud sounds and can’t drive without feeling panic rise in my chest. The trauma wasn’t just physical it hit every part of my life.
My car was totaled. And despite the military acknowledging fault at the scene, I’ve been left struggling to cover the costs. I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t choose to be hit by a government vehicle on what should’ve been a normal drive home.
Now I’m facing thousands in bills hospital expenses sent to me which shouldn’t be , therapy for trauma, and the cost of a new vehicle just to get to work. I need help. I’m doing everything I can, but it’s not enough.
If you’re reading this, and you can help, please know that every dollar goes toward rebuilding my life after something I never could’ve prepared for.
