I'm sharing the journey of someone incredibly special to me: Shayla. She's an amazing mom, loving fiancée, devoted aunt, and cherished friend.Sometimes life asks us to lean on our community in ways we never expected.
Right now, Shayla is facing Stage 5 kidney disease and working toward one incredibly important goal: getting approved and placed on the kidney transplant list.
She is doing everything being asked of her — preparing for dialysis, attending appointments, completing testing, meeting with specialists, and working through each requirement necessary to become eligible for transplant.
But getting there comes with expenses that insurance does not always fully cover.
Between medical appointments, testing, medications, travel, transportation, and the unexpected costs that come with managing a serious illness, the financial burden can add up quickly.

This fundraiser is meant to surround Shayla with a little extra support so she can focus less on how she is going to pay for the next appointment, trip, prescription, or expense — and more on taking care of herself and getting one step closer to transplant.
Shayla has shared that her goal throughout all of this is simple: to keep working, keep fighting, and keep moving forward so she can continue being there for the people she loves.
