My daughters are so fortunate to be going on a service trip to the Dominican Republic with their school. This incredible trip takes a group of 8-12th graders to work in a home for kids. The last trip planted a passion fruits grove for the kids home while also playing with the children and doing anything else the home needed. What an incredible honor and experience for kids to engage with the world in this way and their ages!
There is a child in my 8th grader's class who's father died of Covid last year, and their mother is struggle with her health too. For the privacy of this child I will leave out their name. I don't know this child personally but my child says that this kid helps their family so much and even babysits for free for a family that lives in their building and needs extra help. This child really wants to go on this service trip but their family can't afford it. We want to help them go. Will you please help too?
We need to get the funds by Friday 9/30 because that's when deposits for the trip in February are due. Please spread the word. Helping this kindhearted kid will certainly support them in helping the world in tremendous ways--they have gone through so much, and even at this young age they give so much.
