I’m Hailey, a single mom to my 11 yr old daughter, Adalyn, and my 6 yr old son, Nyjah, who is autistic. In July, we lost our home and almost everything we owned. Now the three of us are homeless and living out of one suitcase that holds the few belongings we have left.
I’m not good at writing things like this or asking for help, but right now I truly need it. I’m doing everything I can to move forward and give my kids the stability they deserve while we work toward getting back into a home and rebuilding our lives.
One of our biggest goals is to save for a cheap, reliable car. Having a car would make it much easier to get my kids to school, appointments, and housing opportunities, and it would also allow me to get a job again while my kids are in school. Public transportation in our area can take over an hour for a single trip, which makes all of this much harder.
Because we lost almost everything, we also need help with basic items and necessities, including pull-ups for my son, food, hygiene items, clothing, and other everyday things my kids need. The car is one goal, but any support we receive will help us get through this difficult time and take steps toward getting our lives back on track.
