Hi everyone, I have created this fundraiser to help my dear friend Kevin raise some funds to care for his beloved kitty Bunny who is suffering right now with intestinal disease. According to Kevin Bunny "plays Chewbacca to my Han Solo." :(
According to Kevin, "Bunny’s liver levels were spiking and has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Her ultrasound revealed her intestines were thickening and her gallbladder was distended. She’s been on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine. There’s still three more tests they have to do: They have to retest her liver levels, do a comprehensive fecal exam and then another more comprehensive blood test that will include other organs, including her pancreas." All of these tests are expected to cost $750 and after spending thousands on Bunny already Kevin needs our help.
A little about Bunny, "I found Bunny on the street in Woodside, Queens. She was 1.1 lbs at the time. The doctor wasn’t sure she was going to make it, but she kept eating and kept growing. That was over ten years ago. She’s been with me through all my trials, including being the only company I had during the entire year of Covid and the most recent drive across country. She plays Chewbacca to my Han Solo."
I have known Kevin since 1994 or 1995 — we met in New York, most likely at CBGB's, and have been friends ever since. Kevin recently moved form the east coast to California and we have been hanging out with mutual friends since shortly after he arrived. I have seen first-hand how important Bunny is to Kevin. During the recent fires, Kevin and Bunny spent time in Orange County while they waited for the smoke to dissipate and I got to meet Bunny and see how close Kevin and Bunny are.
