Hey fellow nurses!
My name is Meggan Wofford and I have been a LVN for 6 years and specialize in psychiatry. I have worked at Community Healthcore for almost 5 years and have discovered that mental health is my passion. Mental health is always on the back burner in the healthcare industry so I am in it to try and bring change.
I have 3 wonderful children age 4, 8 and 12 and a loving and devoted husband of 11 years. In 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Peripartum cardiomyopathy a month after giving birth to my baby girl. This landed me in the ICU where I was taken care of by the most wonderful nurses! Being in the place of a patient and not knowing if I’d survive or not pushed me to want to further my education.
I am now enrolled in the LVN-RN program at NTCC and entering level three in two weeks. This winning couldn’t have come at a better time. Like most of us, I am paying out of pocket for school and every day wonder how I am going to be able to keep doing this. With kids going back to school and bills in general! I had almost hit a road block. My prayers were answered today! God always knows the perfect time to step in.
