On Monday, August 7th, we took our dog Addison into the vet for vomiting. We ended up finding out through X-rays that she had a severe diaphragmatic hernia causing respiratory distress as her intestines and liver were crushing her lungs. She was rushed into surgery to repair her diaphragm but developed free air in her chest. She required continuous section for about a day and a half and a blood patch was performed to help seal the leak in her lungs; which she responded to amazingly. After spending 3 nights in ICU radiograph showed mild to moderate amounts of free air in the chest but Addison is not clinical for it anymore. The surgery and after care together was a little over $10,000 which we took out in loans from my parents, Rachel and Steve, as well as the bank and care credit. We hate having to ask for assistance but we are in a rough spot financially. Anything given to this fund would be used to pay back all the loans and additional bills we have for her check up appointments and medications. We understand we aren't the only ones in a tough financial spot so even sharing this fund would be greatly appreciated.
