TWO WORDS: MORE GARDEN!
The Elizabeth Street Garden (ESG) is a unique community garden with sculptures and statuary located in Little Italy, New York. I've lived in SOHO for 4.5 years and love the green space that the ESG provides our neighborhood. Who doesn't love visiting Soho/Nolita? City-owned and privately leased, the Garden is open to the public daily and attracts over 100,000 annual visitors. Neighborhood volunteers operate the Garden year-round and program hundreds of free, public educational, wellness and arts-related events for children, seniors and all who live and work in the community. This is an amazing place for all New Yorkers, tourists, friends and family to enjoy. The garden is currently under threat of being destroyed and developed by the City. Thinking about not having this amazing area in my neighborhood is incredibly sad. ESG has established a strong legal team to stop the development with our attorney Norman Siegel leading the way. Any donation will support our 5013c legal fund to preserve this beautiful garden.
