The TC 8 Highlands Donations Fund was created to help those impacted by the unnamed storm that hit the Brunswick County community known as the Highlands of BSL. 30+ homes were destroyed when flood waters after 22 inches of rain fell in less then 10 hours, destroying all 30+ homes. Sadly, all local and government assistance organizations have done little to nothing, leaving these homeowners to fend for themselves. If it weren't for some church groups they would have had no help at all.

 

 

No donation is too small, the Highlands community will forever be grateful for your help to rebuild their homes back to where they were before this 1,000 year storm. Even if you feel you cannot help financially, spreading the word and sharing this cause is enough and encouraged if nothing else. Not only can this help them now, but can pave the path of giving back to the community moving forward, if ever a disaster may occur again within the county. 

Many of these homes, which are all less than two years old, are owned by hard working, young families. Most are first time homeowners with many small children that currently only see destruction and detect fear and worry in their parents voices. It shouldn’t be anyone’s responsibility to lift them up, but it’s all they have to keep pushing forward. It starts with you, it builds our community and makes us stronger for it and for one another.
