Hi everyone, my name is Owen Barth, and I’m raising money for a fellow student at Iowa State who is fighting cancer. She is someone who means the world to many many people, she was elected the president of sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma which is an incredible achievement, and seeing what she is going through has made me want to do something meaningful to support her during this incredibly hard time.
Cancer takes so much from a person- physically, emotionally, and financially. Between treatment costs, appointments, and the everyday challenges that come with being sick, the stress can be overwhelming. I want to help lift even a small part of that burden for her so she can focus on healing.
To show my support and help raise funds, I decided I will be shaving my head.
I’ll be buzzing my hair once we hit the fundraising goal (or on the week of March 16th), as a way to stand in solidarity with her and raise as much support as possible.
Every dollar raised will go directly to her to help with medical expenses, daily living costs, and anything she needs during her treatment. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it will make a real difference.
