Hello everyone. My name is Donya Smith and I am 63 year old. I was shot by two African American males on 5/7/25 at approximately 9:30 pm.
These young men had broken into my car (Kia Sorento 2014) directly in front of my house. They immediately ran away and hid in some bushes after I discovered what they did. The destroyed windows and my seats. However, they left their cellphone in my cup holder.
i was able to fortunately start the car with my key and as I was checking everything out, then one of the young men appeared . I was still alert and I was able enough o make it to the nearest hospital emergency room suddenly and said to “give me my motherfu….ing phone b…t..h”. He had a very long silver gun with lots of holes in it. I was extremely frightened and I knew if I gave them the phone they would kill me and my son and take our car.
So I decided to put my car in drive mode and escape but I told my son to lay down flat in the back seat. I was able drive the car but the young man began shooting the gun and one of the bullets hit me on my left side.
To make a long story short I am not at home healing from all of my wounds but I must continue to receive wound care for approximately 8-12 weeks more.
I am not able to work due to my injuries. I need monies to pay for my bills until I am able to get back on my feet .
my wounds are extremely graphic because I have been cut down the middle of my abdomen and a whole on my left side where the bullet entered.
