We were living with my father and my family passed away from COVID. Before my father passed away he asked me to save the family home. The property was still in my grandfather's name and my father was and the process of having it changed over in his name before he passed away. He only owed another $7,000 to have it completely paid off for back taxes. $4,000 to keep it from going to the bank. My father passed away with no living will 6 weeks later on December 17th 2021. Well my father was passing. I was working 12-hour shifts 7 days a week running on barely any sleep. Having a disabled husband who has a rare form of epilepsy and has undergoed three surgeries. I have an autistic 8-year-old and a 3-year-old son who has a history of seizures himself. My father's last words was to me was "Family is everything" I was able to pay off $4,000 of the back taxes to keep it from going to the bank with my paychecks and paid off my father's debt with my tax returns and fix the place up a little. The total amount came to $12,000 that didn't include the $4,000 in fact taxes. After that time my aunt had contacted me telling me her and her daughter had nowhere to go. They were living in a busted up camper and the winter was coming and it was freezing. My husband and I had taken them in and things went down hill from there. Eventually my aunt started doing things behind our back, She took over the family home and kicked this to the streets with me and my children and my disabled husband. We drove down the east coast, looking for refuge and we finally found a shelter that would take us in and that was a salvation army in New Orleans, Louisiana. We have tried to establish here but it has been a struggle after struggle. A month after being in New Orleans, my husband was robbed and drugged which causes to lose even more funds and almost my husband's life. Now we are faced with another struggle. Our car is breaking down and it is our life source. The shelter We have been at has not been much help. They constantly give us a runaround. I am doing what I can do for a job and looking for places to live but we cannot do anything without the salvation armys approval. So my goal is to raise money so we don't not have to rely on the salvation army, get our car fixed and get us into a place that we can finally call home while my husband is still undergoing treatment for his epilepsy.
