It's now time for my third spinal surgery! ahh!

Last year I had surgery 1 & 2 (to remove a tumor on my L2 and complications) and it was an awful time recovering. I just finished recovering from them recently, a year later, but financially I am still really having a hard time. I finally graduated from physical therapy and got two rounds of epidural steroid injections but then after a couple months the pain from my severely herniated disc came back in full force, leaving me bed ridden for days. So I got together with my neurologist and we decided it would be best to try another surgery. This one shouldn't be as intense as last year, but there's still a risk of it not helping or getting a spinal fluid (CSF) leak. This $1500 will help me SO much to cover my bills and living expenses. The recovery process will demand at least two weeks in bed, followed by another month before I hopefully regain my strength. It's hard not being able to work and contribute, especially during recovery. But I remain hopeful that this surgery will be the turning point, allowing me to step back into life with renewed energy. Every bit of support is a reminder that I'm not alone in this. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Hello again! It’s about a week into my healing from surgery. Next Monday is my post op follow up appointment. The first few days of recovery was super hard with pain sky rocketing in my leg. It’s slowly starting to ease up though. One thing they don’t tell you about healing?? The ITCHING, omg the itching is so so bad. And it’s an itch you cannot scratch which makes it torture. lol. I’m surviving though! I’m about 1/3 of the way to my goal in order for me to feel financially okay for the next month as I heal! I have been trying to sit up but can’t really do more than 30 minutes, no lifting, no exercise, just couch potato. Trying to keep my mind busy with plans for the future for the most part!
